Girls 6-10

Mother's Day is Sunday, May 13. Just days away! Are you ready to show your mom how much you love her? If you haven't bought or made her the perfect gift, check out our Mother's Day gift ideas.

The highly anticipated May games have arrived.

Are you looking for a reason to celebrate? On Cinco de Mayo (May 5), break open a bag of tortilla chips, put on a sombrero, and honor Mexico's struggle for Independence!

Finally, we have put up our new April games, an April word search, a Spring flower slider, a Spring basket jigsaw, and an April quiz.

Go for it!

Have you heard the expression "When two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking?" This means that when there are two vowels in a row, the first usually has a long sound and the second is silent. That's why it's team, not taem; coat, not caot; and wait, not wiat. Remembering this rule will help you to put vowels in the right order.

This month we have a Women's History Month quiz, a Saint Patrick's Day slider, and a Zebra jigsaw.

Have fun!

Good practical knowledge that everyone should have--did you know that some plants can actually help you heal?

Here's a list.

Aloe used externally  can help sooth burns, bites, cuts, or scrapes.
Chamomile used externally  can help sooth bites, stings, and skin irritations.
Lavender oil used externally  can help sooth headaches, tense muscles, sunburn, or insomnia.

It's in the news lately, global warming, rising temperatures, alternative fuels, and more. How can you get involved in this issue? Why not look into being an environmental scientist? What do they do? What do they study?

Environmental scientists find and fix pollution and other environmental problems. They figure out what is in the air, water, and soil to make sure that the environment is safe. They also give advice on how to clean the environment. For example, they might design a safe way to get rid of trash.

Don’t fear if you’re too young to get a job at a restaurant or store. There are plenty of ways to earn money to buy songs on iTunes, a videogame or a pair of jeans. Try selling these products and services to your parents, friends or neighbors. Be sure to check with your parents before you start your business.

Tip: If you put $5 a week into a bank account that pays interest, you’ll save about $266 a year.
