Most people... Most people put their left sock on first. Go ahead, try it. First, take your socks off. Submitted by Fact Monster on Tue, 2006-10-31 16:47.
The midterm elections are Nov. 7, next Tuesday. Why do we vote on the first Tuesday in November? It has something to do with church, agrarian society, and good weather. In most states polls open before the work day begins and stay open till about 8 PM. And many people vote in school auditoriums and cafeterias. See if you can go to the polls with your parents. It's a great way to participate, even if you can't vote. And in most states you can register to vote when you're 17. Look forward to it! Submitted by Fact Monster on Tue, 2006-10-31 13:36.
My dentist says, "Eat all the candy you can on Halloween night. Brush your teeth really well and then don't eat any more of that sugary stuff!" Party pooper. When I was a kid I was allowed to eat one piece a night after dinner until it was all gone. I have a friend whose parents buy all her candy from her!!! What would happen if you ate all the candy you wanted every day? We know that wouldn't be good. Vote in the candy-eating style poll and tell me how you finish off your Halloween takings. Well, since my favorite Red Sox did not make even the playoffs this year I had to pick a team to follow through the post season and the St. Louis Cardinals were it! And they won baseball's World Series in five games. Excellent. I do love birds (I can fly as well) thus the Cardinals remained my favorite team. And while I'm on the subject of baseball, did you know that the first World Series was played between Pittsburgh and Boston in 1903 and was a nine-game series. Boston won the series 5-3. Oh, dear Boston . . . Submitted by Fact Monster on Mon, 2006-10-30 18:44.

More women have won the Nobel Peace Prize than any other Nobel Prize. In the last few years, a Kenyan woman and an Iranian woman have won the Peace Prize for work they have done primarily for women in their own countries. This year, a Bangladeshi man, Muhammad Yunus, won the Peace Prize for work he has done giving very small loans to mostly women in Bangladesh—to help these women start small businesses to gain more economic independence. Read a full list of women Nobel Prize winners. Submitted by Fact Monster on Mon, 2006-10-30 18:24.
